Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before renting a vehicle from Stackbridge Rentals. By completing a rental with us, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Rental Agreement
By completing a rental booking with Stackbridge Rentals, you (“Renter”) enter into a binding rental agreement. You must be at least 21 years of age, hold a valid driver’s license, and provide valid identification.
2. Vehicle Use
Rental vehicles are for lawful use only. Vehicles may not be used for illegal activities, racing, off-road driving, or any purpose that violates applicable law. You agree to return the vehicle in the same condition it was rented.
3. Vehicle Tracking Systems
All Stackbridge Rentals vehicles are equipped with GPS tracking devices. By entering into this rental agreement, you acknowledge and consent to the operation of these tracking systems in your rental vehicle. These devices are used solely for the following purposes:
- Fleet management and vehicle safety monitoring
- Scheduling and alerts for vehicle servicing or maintenance needs
- Identifying and responding to mechanical issues or breakdowns
- Vehicle recovery in the event of theft or unauthorized use
Tracking data is not used to monitor renters’ personal activities beyond what is necessary for the above operational purposes and will not be shared with third parties except as required by law.
4. Payment and Fees
Rental rates are as agreed at booking. Additional fees may apply for late returns, fuel shortfalls, damages, tolls, or violations incurred during the rental period.
5. Data Collection and Privacy
Stackbridge Rentals collects personal information (name, contact info, driver’s license, payment details) solely to process your rental and provide our services. We do not sell, share, or distribute your personal data to any third parties except as required by law or to process payments through secure payment processors. All data is stored securely and only retained as long as necessary.
6. Insurance and Liability
Renters are responsible for maintaining valid auto insurance coverage during the rental period. You are liable for any damage to the vehicle not covered by applicable insurance.
7. Fuel Policy
Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as when rented. A refueling fee will apply for vehicles returned with less fuel.
8. Late Returns
Vehicles must be returned by the agreed date and time. Late returns may incur additional daily rental charges.
9. Prohibited Use
The vehicle may only be operated by the registered renter unless Stackbridge Rentals has authorized additional drivers in writing. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited.
10. Termination
Stackbridge Rentals reserves the right to terminate the rental agreement and repossess the vehicle if these terms are violated, without refund of prepaid fees.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Durham County, NC.
